I was watching Oprah's big give last week (and crying through most of it of course!) and it made me think of all the wonderful charities that Songbird Avenue has been able to donate to in the past year. It is such a wonderful caring sweet site and I count myself lucky to have been able to be a part of it this month. Thanks you Jan and Merdith! And thank you Maya for your contribution. It will make a a difference. I am firm believer in positivity and every little counts. This will count for sure :)

I can't wait to see the layouts. I got word from Jan and Meredith that the kit is doing well- YAY! It is making me so happy to know that this money will go to such an important cause for me. I was taking my injection last night and talking to my husband about MS reserch and how they are making so much headway lately. I really hope that the next generation can knock this disease out of the water. Thanks you again to everyone that has bought the kit so far- THANK YOU!!!!  That is me screaming in a good happy ugly cry kind of way! :)  And if you know of anyone who would like the kit, send them an e-mail with a link to the site. And onto new kits. I didn't get last week's kits up here as I have been sick, sick, sick. I had the sorest throat I have ever had for about 2 weeks with sore ears and swollen glands. The Dr. sent me in for mono. testing and then strep but it all came back negative and she said I have a very nasty virus. And with my MS, my body is already working at reduced capacity so my fatigue kicked in full force (hence the mono. test) Thankfully, with the negative test and lots and lots of rest, after 4 weeks I am slowly on the mend. I haven't done much at all lately- made a few small kits but not much else. Onto my new kits:

The kit at Songbird Avenue went live today. I got to be the guest designer this month with all of the proceeds going  to the National MS Foundation. For me, this is a very personal cause. If you have read my blog, you'll know that I have MS. I haven't had a relapse in 3 1/2 years now (knock on wood). It's been almost 10 years now that I have had MS although the diagnosis only came with the last relapse. This kit was a passionate kit for me to design. It came easily to me. First, I began with a Spring-like color palette as I wanted something that felt fresh and vital. I am constantly fighting a battle against fatigue as my number one symptom and I find that keeping a positive outlook on it all has really helped me. This palette just made me happy.  I always figure there are two roads to go down when you have a lifetime diagnosis and there was no way I wanted to go down the road of darkness and despair. Yes, I felt that way initially as part of the acceptance process but once I emerged, I knew that the path to well-being would have to be down the road of positivity. I have written about this as well in my little quote journal that was recently published in Sharon Soneff's Art Journals and Creative Healing book. That book is truly amazing. It is full of so much creative inspiration.  I have also done pages about my battles with  Post-partum and MS. I have found that turning to the creative side in me has always been a fantastic solution. It lets me get out my frustrations and make something beautiful in the process. This kit was just that. I loved every minute of putting it together. Jan, Meredith and Maya were a dream to work with as well- three truly fantastic digi jewels! And then to see their design team work their magic was so so so  much fun!!  We don't have personal design teams over at Twopeas so it was really exciting to see so many pages done with one single kit of mine. Each one was like a little present- thanks girls!!!  Head on over to Songbird Avenue and snatch up this kit and rest well knowing that 100% of the proceeds will go to a good cause and hopefully help in the fight against a disease  that affects twice as many women as men.
